Elisa buys majority shares in videoconferencing company Videra

BNS - The listed Finnish telecommunications holding Elisa Corporation that operates also in the Baltic countries has bought 64.7 percent of the shares of Videra, the leading video conference company in the Nordic countries.

Sami Seppanen, CEO of Elisa Eesti, told BNS that Elisa will be offering new technology in the video and interactive communication services segment in Finland and Estonia alike.

The value of the transaction is between 10-20 million euros, Seppanen said.

The market of virtual work and video conferencing is set to grow significantly in the next few years when both the private and the public sector introduce new ways of working and providing customer service using video and interactive communication services, Elisa said.

Through the transaction Videra will become part Elisa Group and continue operation as a subsidiary of Elisa.
