Estonian firm to start developing temperature sensors in China

BNS - The Estonian company Feanor has signed a deal on the development of high-tech temperature sensors at the Xi'an technology park in China.

This is a technology that has been growing fast in recent years but is at present available only from U.S. and German manufacturers, the company said. The sensors using platinum are meant for the measurement of temperature in a range of minus 196 to 1000 Celsius and they are used in the aircraft industry among others.

Feanor will develop the software and the development base. The factory to produce the sensors is to be completed in 2011 and hire 400 people, the company said.
