BNS - Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, has released an overview of the regional living standards in EU member countries, according to which the living standards in Estonia stand at 65.3 percent of the EU average.
In the overview the gross domestic product per capita is compared on the basis of purchasing power parity, proceeding from data of 2006. In Estonia it was 15,400 euros per capita.
In Lithuania the living standard stands at 55.5 percent and in Latvia 52.5 percent of the EU average.
The richest regions in the EU were London City and Luxembourg where the living standard stood at respectively 336 and 267 percent compared with the EU average.
The nine poorest regions were in Romania and Bulgaria where the living standards stood at 25 to 33 percent of the EU average.
